Many birds arrive after losing a familiar home. We give them time to feel safe and help you earn their trust before adoption.
Parrots need daily attention, enrichment, appropriate housing, a balanced diet, and avian veterinary care. They can be loud and destructive, and not every parrot talks. We share what we know about each bird’s needs and behavior so you can make an informed decision.
THE BIRD CHOOSES
BEFORE ADOPTION
Volunteer at the sanctuary and get to know our birds. Building a match takes time and patience, helping you earn trust before moving forward. We teach daily care and only proceed when the bird is fully comfortable.
REQUIREMENTS
All household members must agree. Renters need written permission. Adopters must provide safe enrichment and veterinary care, with the bird returning to us if care ever becomes impossible.
APPLICATION
Submit our initial application to start the process. We will review your household plan and experience together. Please refrain from sending sensitive identification at this stage.
