On March 31, 2007 over 500 birds were auctioned off causing an
uproar from bird lovers, rescues and breeders alike. A "breeder
mill" was forced to close after the owner was unable to tend to the
birds due to health reasons.
Our Board of Directors voted unanimously to allow our Executive
Director, Wendy Waas, to use our limited sanctuary funds to bid on
and rescue as many birds as possible from falling into the hands of
breeders or inexperienced owners.
THANK YOU TO THOSE OF YOU THAT DONATED!
We are pleased to announce that Ziggy's Haven was able to rescue
17 birds. The birds are now at our facility and the majority of the
birds are in very poor condition. Our goal now is to provide them a
safe haven and get them to the proper medical attention that they
need!

birds in our care and have 15 on the way from the auction. All of the new
birds will need a exam and blood work ($150 per bird).
